LOG ENTRY 2: BECALMED

Your name:________________________________________

Your ship’s name:______________________________

Directions:  Complete this log entry on a separate sheet of paper.  You may use as many pages as you need.  Write legible and accurately.  Be creative!

SITUATION: The wind has now totally disappeared.  The sails have hung slack on the yard arms for a number of days.  The heat is unbearable above and below decks.  Food is beginning to spoil, and water supplies are running dangerously low.  The inactivity is causing the crew to quarrel among themselves.  Several fights have broken out.

ENTRY:  Begin your entry by telling about past events since leaving home.  Included things that have happened as reported in the FATE BULLETINS.  Tell more about the crew members, now that you have gotten to know them better.  Tell about your present problem.  What are your feelings?  Add any incidents that have happened on your ship. Let your imagination be your guide.  Write the best entry you can.

SCORING:  You will receive 1 point for each complete, clear, well-written sentence that contains new information.  4 bonus points are available for entries that are well proof-read and contain few grammar and spelling errors. 4 additional bonus points are available for entries that are creative and include situations and language appropriate for the time period.  Your score will be averaged with your shipmates’ scores to determine how far your ship will move on the next round.
